Tobacco from Switzerland is almost as much in demand as cheese. Swiss exports of cigarettes and other smokes even surpassed the more famous delicacy from 2007 to 2012. British American Tobacco Plc, Japan Tobacco Inc. and Philip Morris International Inc. all process tobacco in the country and the industry employs some 13,000 staff, according to SonntagsZeitung.
Judged by the data, the Swiss have a comparable smoking rate but those that do smoke, smoke more.
